Definition
The City's General Fund Reserves allows the City to continue providing acceptable service levels during emergencies and economic downturns while maintaining adequate liquidity to make all payments without short term borrowing. The City has a goal of no less than two months of city operating costs or at least 20% of budgeted General Fund operating expenditures for its reserves policy.
