FY 2024 Status Update (Updated Fiscal Year Annual):

The City of Hayward's Economic Development Division proudly reports that through our comprehensive programs and outreach efforts, we have engaged over 200 businesses this year. These businesses have benefited from our direct support and resources aimed at enhancing their operations and growth potential.

Our core programs—business engagement, marketing and business attraction, concierge meetings and development assistance, and site selection—have been instrumental in fostering a supportive environment for our business community. Through our business engagement efforts, we have met with existing business owners at their locations, addressed their concerns, and connected them to other local businesses, ensuring they feel supported and valued.

Our concierge programs have rolled out the red carpet for targeted industries, new developments, major employers, and major sales tax generators. By assisting with site selection, project development, and workforce assistance, we have provided a streamlined resource for answers, assistance, and advocacy, coordinating with other city departments, outside agencies, and non-profit partners to deliver prompt and effective support.

We remain committed to improving the economic well-being and quality of life in Hayward by making it easier and more attractive for businesses to invest here. Our targeted efforts in business attraction, retention, and expansion continue to yield positive results, strengthening our local economy and community.
